The Dubbeldam Groep is taking the next step in sustainable waste management with the development of the very first electric Opel E-Vivaro with a unique sweeper skip and side loader. Thanks to this vehicle, Dubbeldam Groep, a body and damage repair company with several branches in the Netherlands, is looking confidently to the future of sustainable waste management, in which electric vehicles play a crucial role in reducing the environmental impact of urban mobility. The Dubbeldam Groep's Opel E-Vivaro with sweeper body and side loader is now available for test drive or purchase.
Sustainable alternative to conventional household waste collection vehicles
The introduction of the electric Opel E-Vivaro with unique sweeper body and side loader marks the next chapter in the Dubbeldam Group's commitment to innovative waste collection vehicles for commercial and municipal organisations.
In addition, this Opel E-Vivaro meets the need of local authorities for more sustainable refuse collection vehicles, especially in busy city centres where low emission zones are increasingly being introduced. The small turning circle of just 12.4 metres is particularly advantageous in tight city centres. Thanks to the underfloor arrangement, the battery does not affect either the load capacity or the volume. This makes the E-Vivaro perfectly suited for this set-up.
Intelligent waste collection with side loader
The Opel E-Vivaro side loader developed by the Dubbeldam Group has an internal length of approx. 2,300 mm and a capacity of 5.3 m3 . This provides sufficient space for emptying various waste containers. The lifting mechanism, which is also shown in this video, makes emptying easier for the collector. The vehicle is not only environmentally friendly, but also practical with a net payload of up to 820 kilograms, depending on the battery pack and options selected. The E-Vivaro can easily be driven with a B driving licence, making this vehicle suitable for a wide range of drivers.
Made from sustainable materials
The body of the side loader, which is only 1,950 mm wide, consists of recyclable side panels and a sturdy rear frame made of stainless steel. The low drop height makes waste disposal easy and ergonomic, while optional extras such as warning lights, a viewing window and a reversing signal increase safety and efficiency.
This electric Opel E-Vivaro is available with a 50 kWh battery pack. The 50 kWh battery version offers a range of up to 224 kilometres (WLTP). To maximise range, the new Opel E-Vivaro is equipped with a regenerative braking system with three intensity levels that can be adjusted via flippers behind the steering wheel.
Battery charging
The Opel E-Vivaro is equipped with a three-phase 11 kW on-board charger as standard; a 22 kW on-board charger is available as an option. Direct current fast charging is possible with an output of up to 100 kW. Charging the 50 kWh battery takes 38 minutes until the battery is 80% charged with direct current. Drive is provided by an electric motor with an output of 100 kW (136 hp) and a torque of 260 Nm. There are three driving modes to choose from: 'Eco' for maximum range, “Power” for maximum performance and “Normal” for versatile use.
